Welcome to the website featuring Stratford upon Avon artist John Corvin

Ex RSC actor, John Corvin has recently realised his dream when the first Solo
Exhibition of his artwork was shown at Retrospectives Gallery in Stratford upon
Avon. He created scenes and portraits reflecting the Town of William Shakespeare
using oils and charcoal. He has painted the changing theatre and town as well as his
friends and people of the town he knows personally. Included are actors such as
Jeffery and Dame Judi Dench, John Carlisle, Sir Donald Sinden and also the director
Sir Peter Hall. During his time as an actor John would ask fellow performers to sit
for a portrait and many of these now famous actors have his work displayed in their
homes. (One portrait of Sir Ian Holm as Henry V is now in the public collection of the
Victoria and Albert Museum.) John also captured the changing face of the
Swan Theatre, The Courtyard and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre during the current
renovations, some scenes never to be repeated, such as the ongoing construction work.

John is now looking to concentrate on his portraits and would like to offer his
artistic services for portrait commissions both people and dogs.
